She looked at them and said these don't look like pancakes! Then she said " Mom, for my birthday can I just have circle pancakes?" But I think she changed her tune because when she went upstairs to get Mike, she told him we made pancakes that looked like a castle! Plus once she ate them all doubts about their looks were gone!
Then that afternoon we had his family over for a BBQ/swim party to help celebrate! 
And later that night we went to another BBQ with some friends in the ward (they didn't know it was Mike's B-day, but happened to have a cake so it worked out) Thanks Greg & Bethanie!
